Scholarships for PhD Candidates

Α total of up to ten (10) scholarships will be awarded to PhD candidates, with the aim of supporting early-stage researchers.

The scholarships are allocated as follows:

  • Up to five (5) PhD candidates from Greek Institutions (conference registration fee waiver)
  • Up to five (5) PhD candidates from low, low-middle and high-middle income countries (conference registration fee waiver and free accommodation during the conference in the students’ residences)

Selection criteria:

  • Evaluation score of the extended abstract
  • A maximum of one (1) PhD candidate from each academic department may receive a scholarship.

This initiative shows the conference’s commitment to international, inclusive academic collaboration in a relevant research area, as reflected in the strong response to the call for papers, especially on resilience, sustainability, and transformation in tourism.

Application Procedure: Eligible PhD candidates are required to:

  1. Submit their extended abstract via the official conference platform by 20th June 2026.
  2. Send an email to the Organizing Committee at ictf2026@hmu.gr  with the subject line: “PhD Scholarship Application – [Full Name]”.
  3. The email must include a formal Proof of Enrollment (or a valid PhD Student ID) confirming their current doctoral status and academic department.

The Organizing Committee will grant the scholarships based on the final peer-review scores, ensuring a maximum of one (1) award per academic department.
